Forum post blocking......

Probably been suggested before but is there not a way of blocking peoples forum posts ??

If we block someone we can still see their forum posts ?

There are some we do not wish to read or hear their opinions ( trolls, inane posts etc )

So surely there is a way of implementing this so we dont have to read their drivel ??

This is a reply I put on another thread asking the same thing

"ot really, anything you post on the forums can be read by anyone with an internet connection. Discussions would be very dis-jointed if only certain people could read certain posts.

Another way of looking at it is if you asked on the forum "What time does XYZ Club close on saturday night, someone you've blocked answers 2.00am but you can't see it. Every else sees the question has been answered so they don't bother."

If other posts bother you that much probably best to stay clear altogether. The whole point of a forum is for people to state their opinions whether you agree with them or not.

We will post as we choose , there are a small few that we would rather not read their posts , hence the suggestion.

Bur surely thats the whole point of a forum to discuss things.

Whats the point of posting when you only like certain replies?

Its a bit like Adolph hitler asking if anyone has objections to ethnic cleansing and then banning all responses from the Jews really isnt it?

No problem whatsoever with others opinions, as we said there are a select few that deliberately post to cause trouble , troll or just downright nasty , yes we can ignore them but when reading a thread we would like to not have to see their posts
