proper forum style

i know this is similar to a proper forum layout, but how about having a topic 'new posts' and 'new threads' sub headings. would make things easier to read and browse.?

Not enough of the site percentage use the forums to warrant upgrades

Although if the forums were improved it might go up.

I am not sure it is the layout which stops new people posting. Most likely the immense ignorance and aggression that invades almost every long thread puts people off?
