Talk talk ban Fab!!!

Long story short

I work away during the week and am in digs

Just got in to find that fab has been blocked at the ISP end...talk talk

This was not the case on Friday and the people I rent from are in no way computer literate so it's not them doing the blocking!

To say I'm pissed off is an understatement

Anyone else had this?

Currently on iPhone with 3G but can't keep this up...

I'll try n find a way round if poss and would appreciate it if anyone has a workaround that lets me use fab!

can you use other adult sites,? I found I had to contact them to prove I was over 18 and give permission for the adult block to be taken off

Nope zip...no porn whatsoever

Quick search shows its a relatively new thing being rolled out by the big 4 ISPs

I can't contact them as I don't control the net access here in the digs!

Found a workaround I think...proxy server and or s browser called pirate browser designed to circumvent uk censorship...

Don't really want the uk government censoring my net access .....obviously the argument is re minors

As far as I was aware, they were only blocking porn access for new users, unless requested by customer.

Might be worth upgrading your phone contract if you are away a lot.

I'm on talktalk. They have a block thingy but you can turn it on and off, I turned it on and couldn't access fab, lottery etc.

You can control it if you log into talktalk on your account

The problem is that I dont control the account (username password etc) so I cant reset...

However... Talk Talk and the landlord are no match for my geek kung fu and I have bypassed their 'security' and am back up n perving...

I kinda think it was the landlord switching on the child lock... There are 3 adults here... Two ultra religious types and one utter pervert... I'll leave you to guess which one I am...

Just to add

The browser mentioned can run directly off a usb stick and will bypass any block lists etc

For example ones at work (although i'm not trying/testing this)

If I use any 'normal' browser IE, Chrome etc I am blocked from Fab

Need to sort iPad now

They done it to our internet (Talk Talk Fibre) and blocked all adult stuff, so phoned them n they said they have to do it automatically unless you manually disable it and that I have to log into my account online to disable it (its called HomeSafe). I disabled it then in a few hours time it had blocked everything, social media, adult sites, gambling, almost every site you could imagine. except BBC (TV not the other bbc) or google. Phoned them back n they said wait 48 hours, waited. phoned back they said they would have someone look into it. In the end took them 4 weeks to fix it. Got 6 months at half price, on top of the 6 months half price was already getting lol.

But to get past it the now use "http://www.bestukvpn.com/"

Thankfully I'm not on talk talk but on my phone, when I'm on 3G safari on my iPhone blocks adult sites but I can get past it by using opera mini browser ( which also uses a lot less data) so I can them roam any porn or adult sites like fab

Anyway, the TOR browser bypasses ALL security (even that pirate site banned by the UK gov)

The VPN app sounds great too

Tor network is great for web pages you may find downloading anything by it is slow though best option for that would be a VPN connection however if you are going to use a VPN for anything questionable you can still get tracked as the providers are obliged to pass on any warning issued for the usage on said VPN
