Is there a plan to make it possible to search the text of people's profiles for something (e.g. facials, modelling, cycling, tennis or whatever) in the same way that we can for forum posts? This would be a really useful facility I think. What do other people reckon? Or perhaps it's already available and I've missed it?

You can filter by interest using the search page. However doing a profile text search might be a bit much for a free site.

Filter by interest as available at present assumes that every possible interest is covered though in the list...if I wanted to find swingers who happened to enjoy hiking, caravans, surfing, nipple clamps, dressing as teddy bears or Margaret Thatcher(!) or whatever else I couldn't at present without going through everyone's profile, which, let's face it, not all of us have the time for

I assume a text search on profiles isn't too computationally demandin.

I think that you may be mistaken, as far as I know, you can only search the Subject of forum threads?

I'm guessing, but stand to be corrected, that there will be indexes (lists) of the Interests, so that if you search for Thatcher AND Teddy Bears, only the lists of those who have already selected Thatcher OR Teddy Bears are checked against each other to find any matches. A free text search would have to search every word of every profile which I THINK would have a large computational overhead! Some are like War + Peace and there are millions

of profiles.
