Changing date of birth - now once only

We've made a change today 04/10/13 so that you can only correct your date of birth *once*.

We hope this will stop people changing their date of birth to sneak around age filters. We figure there's no genuine reason to change a date of birth unless you made a mistake on registering.

(don't forget, age filters don't count if you've messaged or winked or added someone as a friend)

Feedback welcome

How are the people who dont read the forums going to know...

I think we could end up with a lot of people changing the once... then not being able to change it back??

The page tells you it's a one time change!

"Correct your date of birth

You can correct your date of birth ONCE only.

Once corrected, it is not be possible to change again."

There's a new mechanism that explains how it works and that it's a once only thing. Check it out:

Admin usually put a message on one's home page where any changes have been made

There wasn't one.. which was what made me ask.. but I see that if you try to change it, it's clear you can't change it again..

Absolutely welcome here!! Stops the shifty ones trying to pull a fast one, but also allows for genuine typos. But make sure it's made plain and simple on the home page and at the signing up stage. Thank you

I set up couples profile for me and fb...didn't know his date of birth so put close to what I thought for him to amend because I couldn't get hold of him.

Think one change should be allowed because it's easy to pick a wrong drop down, but one change is plenty so to admin

Great , we have meet some on here who say there 40 something ,you meet up for a social and there closer to 50 something ,its as bad as pictures from 5 years ago

And for those tht might say age is a number , yes it is but why do some try and knock off 10 years plus ,the pictures usually tell the story

Great news, that should stop all the " change the age" crew to get round filters

if they have changed it once to "correct" it, won't need to change it again.

If they have changed it to lie to get round a filter then tough luck on them
