shrops is not in wales

Why cant this site fix one simple issue, Shropshire is not in wales !!

Totteridge/Whetstone

Some of the SY postcode which covers Shropshire is, which is where this is derived from (doesn't make it any less wrong though).

The regions system is a mess. We're moving away from it to use proximity stuff instead e.g. the advanced search page.

I know lol......it is a bit of a pain but to be honest some SY postcodes do go into wales, so guess its an odd one

Yeah but very few SY codes do and only small parts. 90% is outside of wales. Just makes ppl searching harder as our SY is more midlands

Bradford

The whole of the system is a mess when it comes to areas.

Leeds is supposedly in the North East, Bradford in the north west but with postcodes coving some huge areas I suppose the lines have to be drawn somewhere.

Couldn't it be done by counties ?

You can search within 5 miles of your town or post code e.g. "York", "Kettering", "YO8", "N12" using the advance search pages.

The main problem I find is when using the map search SY covers such an area that it really isnt local

I do like the map search facility. It just needs amending

Also CH postcodes get mixed up with Northern Ireland to, don't know why?

Just as Sheffield is not in the East Midlands!

When I search local meets and events I get ones in Cambridge and Ipswich showing up!

Admin have said it's on their to-do list.

They go to the west coast

And we in the North East are under a Cheshire post code

SY goes all the way to Aberystwyth. I think that is in Wales, about as far away from England a Welsh person can get

Yes SY does go across to Aberystwyth which is in Wales but most of my messages come from people based in and around Swansea !!!!
