As someone who is mildly dyslexic (but knows it and tries to do something about it) I find I keep stubbing my toes on the current software used by Fab for checking spelling. Fab is a primarily a UK site so I am pleading for a spell-checker that checks UK English spelling.

Indeed,, spell checkers are not as good as people think, and this is a very important subject to discus!

"... I am pleading for a spell-checker that checks UK English spelling. "

I downloaded some free software called PhraseExpress. I wanted it for something else, but one extra benefit is that it overrides the Fab spellchecker.

Fab doesn't have spell checker software! Any spell checking that is happening is happening in your browser and is likely to be the same for all web sites, unless the spell checker has site specific options.

The method of changing spell checker options will depend on the browser you use. In Chrome, open a text box, e.g. reply to this message, and right-click and choose "Spell-checker Options", then language settings. If English (United Kingdom) isn't shown then Add it. Once these, select it for Display and for Spell Checking.

Many thanks to those who replied. Firefox seemed to think it was somewhere mid-Atlantic so I have moved it in an Easterly direction.

These preferences for localization settings in spellcheckers are actually inside your spellchecker and not fabswingers.com
