Awhile ago I know that the rules were changed as to how a single guy can get verified. It was changed so that single guys could no longer get verified by webcam and it clearly states this in the site FAQs about how to get verified.

So why is it that lately I have come across a number of single male profiles that have been webcam verified? And I don't mean those that were verified before the rules changed, but rather in the last week or two?

I am confused. Or am I missing something? I just find it really misleading.

You are right that is the rule..

Obviously if that is really the case then admin haven't put in measures to prevent it happening.

Guessing they changed it back as the verification overview tells u what there verifications were for ie webcam or meetings

I don't know if the rules were actually changed or whether the following, from the FAQ, is more of an advisory that a webcam veri is pretty worthless for a single guy:

"How do I get verified by other members?

.....

If you are a single guy then you need to meet someone."
Possibly Admin could clarify, and if the rules HAVE changed remove the ability to cam verify a single male?

It was phone verifications that were stopped, not webcam veri's

There is something about Webcam veris for single men Ruggers. Admin commented on it a while ago but I can't remember what they said or find the thread. I dont think i can look through the archive on mobile.

So in summary. It is ok for single men to get verified by cam. It's the FAQ's that are out of date.

FAQ is still as written in 2006 before we ran the site.

Way it works is as it always has been.

Yes, there is an inconsistency here!

We made it slightly better by removing phone verification for all.

This (verified by cam etc.) is partly the reason why we introduced facility to search for those with meets. Personally, we would be inclined to remove ability to verify males via webcam but it would rightly be met be outrage - why one rule for one account type than another.

I'm frequently in the chatrooms, and I won't cam-verify single men. I take the FAQs to be the definitive answer, and I wish people would stop cam-verifying single men (even though, as Admin says, it would be discriminatory to take this option away).

What can a cam verification prove? He says he's a human male and he looks like a human male???

I've only ever know 3 cases of women making up a fake male profile (and two of those were for a reasonably good reason!) Whereas fake female/couple profiles are much more common. I would therefore like to see the site software amended so that single males can't be cam-verified.

Yes, the advanced search feature permits us to search for peeps who have been verified by meet, but a) not everyone knows this and b) not everyone can be bothered.

Cam-verifications for "human males" just make the site more difficult for everyone.

Cam veri's are just what they are - a verification that someone has a cam and was in a chat room!!

I've seen no end of fake profiles (based on downloaded porn pics - reported and profiles soon vanished!) that had numerous cam veri's! And since there's many a cammer who I'm sure has never pointed the cam above their neck (male and female!) what effectively is being verified? That they have a functioning cock/nice boobs/a really great taste in tracksuits?

I'd love to see them removed for all - not just single guys. I respect people's right to use the site as they choose and if that is solely for camming and chat then that's fine!! But is there a need for a verification for this? Surely if you're concerned as to whether someone is the gender they claim - then just view their cam when it's on!! You'll soon find out!

I pay no attention to cam veri's at all - I prefer to see feedback that someone actually meets, is pleasant and fun company, and was what the verifier expected rather than someone decades older/stones heavier/had two heads!!

If your interactions are all 'virtual' then no verifications won't impact your fun on site. You'll still be able to have fun in chat and cam to your hearts content!

And you will never run the risk of being accused of being fake or a timewaster, or standing someone up if they can see you!

It seems that the actual rules aren't reflected accurately in the FAQs. Which is confusing and misleading. Updating text on a web page is really quite simple, so I am not sure why admin still hasn't sorted this out when it has been raised a few times now.

So I was wrong about the rules, which have actually been misquoted in a couple of threads which just added to my confusion. Even when you go to the verify someone page the wording contradicts itself by saying you can verify someone by phone... but then goes on about how this function no longer exists in the very next paragraph. So a bit of consistency would be useful.

I like the idea of different icons on profiles so that people can easily see whether a persons veris are meet in person or webcam veris. I would rather this than getting rid of webcam veris altogether. Personally I find webcam veris pointless but others use them so this option would suit both sides of the fence.

I don't think that there should be one rule for females/couples and then another rule for single men anyway. Equality and all that! And it's hard enough for the guys as it is.

Anyway, I was really just looking for clarification o the rules, which I have now so thanks. Admin just needs to sort out the wording in the rules and FAQs! If it's confusing for us oldies, I can imagine how confusing it is for he newbies and it's hard enough for them already!

That's all good and well if the person has them displayed on their profile. But if they haven't, all you can see is the green tick and not everyone is using the verification summary thingy.
