Do you mean that there is a delay between you uploading pics and them appearing on your profile?

From the photo rules:

"All images, including private images are checked by a moderator before they go on the site"

This means that there will usually be a delay between you uploading pics and them appearing on your profile. There is not always a moderator online, as moderators are unpaid volunteers.
