Suddenly changed to have a 'load more' button and I don't like it!!

Shows me updates fro 2wks, 4wks ago

Says to click for feedback and the thread is over a year old

It has not suddenly changed as you say. If your friends have had no updates in the last few weeks then it will show the recent ones
