So many men. So few women. Many women are put off when they join by the swamp-load of messages they get. Here's an idea.... When women join, single men should be blocked by default. Each woman should then be able to browse male profiles at leisure and send a first message to any she might be interested in. Only at that point could those guys message her back. This would reduce the deluge of messages most women receive and also encourage guys to post better profiles. On a site with such an imbalance in numbers, surely this is worth considering.

We suggested a similar idea a while back about having the message filters as part of the profile set up. Would be handy way to retain new members.

Whenever I've sent messages to guys first they leave on read or dont reply

Out of 10 messages over however long its been all of them I'd say

So its not always just women getting tonnes of messages or the filters

You are not a woman so you have no idea, when I set up my profile I had over 50 messages before I'd even posted a pic or put up a bio. I didn't even know filters existed at that point.

I think having filters set when joining would be a great idea.

I agree because I've never even bothered messaging a guy before why when my inbox is so full I have to delete it all the time it's draining. I just sort through those. They never read your profile and just send low effort messages. Hard to see quality guys. I also think it shouldn't let u make a profile without filling anything in. So many messages with no pictures or anything written!
