Our age filters are 24+

How is it that young men of 22 are able to message us, having had no prior interaction with them at all to lift the restriction?

Its disappointing for both parties, ill get over it... but im now so curious.

The filters should work - and they've probably stopped you from being deluged by inappropriate contact, I assume.

You've covered the usual way that they can appear not to have worked, when there's been prior contact. You've stated there hasn't been, so the only thing I can think of,is them changing their age, after they sent the message.

They can only do this once and would subsequently need to request directly to Admin, explaining and requesting for them to do it. Other than that, my mind is blank.

Its doesnt matter what so ever, it just had me puzzled.

On the message filter page it will show the age restrictions on who can message you.

There is an option for only those ages to message you or you can choose to allow anyone including those outside your filters to message.

You may need to check which option is selected.
