Ability to delete messages

No doubt this has been raised and nothing done in the past. We think users should have the ability to delete messages. Just like we can unsend images as supporters. We feel in this day and age it should be seen as a safety measure if sensitive information is shared, such as address or phone numbers.

.......

Not entirely sure how this would be a benefit to be fair.

For one simple reason.

The person you send anything to, could easily screenshot/take a picture, of whatever you have sent.

The best form of protection is oneself by not giving out personal/sensitive information.

Not everyone is smart enough to think of screenshots and for private data you can put a block on apps and websites to prevent them happening. Sure there are other ways around it.

Most socials media sites now allow the ability to unsend messages as standard and regardless of what is sent, etc, that ability should still be considered.

Enough money is sent to the site from supporters that these tweaks can be made and it will also help managed the data store on the servers.

They'd get away with all sorts then

It would allow people to send terrible abuse then delete it.

Oh well each to their own. Makes no difference with abuse as we've reported it in the past and the users are still active.

That's entirely possible because admin don't suspend a profile every time.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

--

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******

They have deleted their account. The messages wouldn't disappear if you'd been blocked.

To be honest blocking screenshots jist gives you a false sense of security. If someone really wants your picture they can just photograph it from another device.

I think this is a good idea. They allow it in forams so why not in messages. Also i think a time limit to changes the message should be allowed.

Sorry for trying to suggest additional safety measures for women.
