The wink system

We all know how its meant to work and we have all seen someone post a status that H is a creep or J is a bitch so on and so fourth so what if we added something that was the opposite of the wink system such as slaps like someone has been bombing you with messages and you aint interested so you just send them a slap thats publicly viewable limited amount per person per month to prevent abuse

.

I like the limited amount of slaps per month to prevent abuse idea. Otherwise this system could have definitely been open to abuse.

One person's slap would be another one's tickle, so no, I don’t think it's a good idea

It would still be easily abused with friends of friends encouraged to slap individuals one of them took a dislike to.

It would be used for forum comments they didn't agree with and would just be completely weaponised.

There are enough games being played on here without turning it into Wacaday.

I mean fair but not every user uses the forum so 🤷‍♂️

Winks are private and should remain so. Social media is overrun with “public” shows of like and dislike and I don’t think anyone would say that is working. It would just get weaponised and monetised and that is the opposite of what anyone wants.

They don't have to use the forum. That is just one way it would be abused. There are enough off site chat groups that ostracise fabbers and something like this would be their idea of fun to target people who don't agree with them or have the temerity to turn them down.

No, I don't think it's a good idea. Fab provides other tools to manage and restrict contact with others, that doesn't approach naming and shaming.

We should aim to take personal responsibility for getting what we want, without trying to discourage or negatively motivate others.

I had to delete my last account due to the abuse I was receiving from someone I turned down, and a few of her Fab friends. I didn't do anything wrong other than have standards. I wouldn't particularly feel comfortable having them all publicly humiliating me, it's tough enough as it is for some guys on here.

Use the report system for anyone sending abusive messages or otherwise breaking the rules and if they are naming someone on their status.

Admin have strict rules about publicly shaming others because it's too easy for people to do it maliciously.

Having a limited amount of 'slaps' won't stop someone using it to humiliate or abuse

I don’t see what this would add. The site’s intended to facilitate meeting compatible people, not showing how popular someone is - or isn’t. The only exception I guess being Fabs but there’s the justification showing an appreciation of a photo even if it does get used sometimes to gauge popularity.

I've never had to delete my account but I have received messages from women using the forums to tell me that my fab journey was coming to an end.

My crime was passing on one of their friends on a kiss, fuck, pass thread.

That would have been 3 slaps just there alone.

I've also been told by a handful of couples and a few women that they would make sure I never had another meet through fab simple because I refused to drive 6 hours on a Sunday night to meet them or wouldn't shave off my beard as they didn't like them and wouldn't play bi because that's what they wanted.

I would have had the head slapped off me through no fault of my own and simply because some people threw a tantrum.

I think the reason these women become so unhinged is because they have little to no self esteem and get jealous of other women seen to be " taking" the person that they fancy.. very sad really that these are grown ass women playing games...

That's utterly outrageous, but entirely unsurprising given some behaviours I've observed here over the years.

There already is one. It's called the block button.
