Same restrictions on viewing our profile as messaging us

It would be nice to be able to restrict who views our profile by the same criteria as who can message us.

We block people who’ve viewed our profile if they fail the “smell” test - no profile pic or public photos, no green-flag icon or videos by meet and empty, lazy, one-line profiles all get blocked - we’d rather keep our profile for genuine people even if they are not for us or we for them.

All they’re doing is looking. Let’s face it, you’ve uploaded your photos to the internet. Can’t really see the issue ourselves.

does it really matter who has looked at your profile ? if message filters are correctly used those that fail your "smell" test cant contact you

It would absolutely be one of the lowest priority developments to funnel Fab resources to, in my opinion, when many ideas have achieved many, multiple and popular requests for, for over 15 years, that would give them more from Fab use.

Being as most profile details, apart from age, gender etc can changed quite easily, people who are determined to view people will find a way to do it. Some people won't be as confident as others either and might decide to search and find more anonymously, perhaps because they've had stalkers or trouble before. Some hide their real location too.

Having useful message filters keeps you out of contact from those you choose.

Do you not think to stem the apparent decline in genuine active participants on fab, we need people to complete thier profiles in ways that put themselves in the best light?

These “lazy profiles” aren’t helping fab’d reputation, then are degrading it. If people can block the viewing of their profile to these people it will remind them that this site lives (and does) on fair and honest participation of its members.

It seems crazy to us that you don’t seem to value a minimum level of investment in one’s profile.

We are not saying they shouldn't, what we are saying is that view is simply the fastest way to the bottom. If you don’t encourage people to actively participate rather than simply leach from the site.

We’re kind of disappointed that you are not fighting to keep fab full of genuine, active participants than defending its slow decline.

Message filters dont work on this site.

No public profile pics is blocked..yet all they do is remove them after joining and they still can message. The site doesn't keep up with the filter requirements.

Then keep your pictures friends only and only let people you're interested in become a friend to view them. It's really not that difficult

Change your looking for. Switch off whomever you don’t want to have messaging and you will no longer see these views.

If you do meet someone outside of this you’ll need to change the looking for back to whomever you met to ensure that they can verify (if you’re after a veri).
