From 24th July 2025 UK Law (the Online Safety Act) means all users must have undergone "age assurance" to verify they are 18+, to make use of Fab. We're now opening this to ALL users to try, and giving FREE 24h SITE SUPPORTER for anyone who gives it a go for a very limited period while we finalise testing. (Free site supporter only applies to users who have accounts older than 7 days). We'd welcome any feedback.

These all follow OFCOM guidelines which they have published on "highly effective" age assurance. For example, mobile phone network operator check for 18+ (if your phone is unlocked for adult content) and AI age estimation are two of the methods they say are capable of being "highly effective" if used correctly.

We are in the final stages of our testing. All our methods are quick, easy and designed for privacy, following guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office on data privacy related to age assurance.

We store no data other than a PASS if we can confirm you as 18+. We don't store (or in most methods need) your DOB as part of this process and we don't store any data as part of the process. It is emphatically NOT an ID check. For anyone interested in the details of the legislation, OFCOM has published hundreds of pages of guidance related to this which you can google and read through.

PPS. MOST folks who are active users on the site will already have taken an action which means their account will be flagged as age assured at the point this goes live (for example, upgrading from an adult unlocked phone, accessing the site from an adult unlocked phone, upgrading by cc etc).
