"I’ve noticed increasing concern, both in forum discussions and personal conversations, regarding the growing number of fake profiles on Fab. Alarmingly, even some profiles with "meet verifications" are turning out to be fraudulent. Maybe it's time to make photo verification mandatory, with a requirement to re-verify every 12 months to maintain trust and accountability. Couples don't necessarily stay couples. Additionally, the current photo verification process appears insufficient. I regularly come across multiple fake profiles each day, many of which could be identified using basic tools like Google Lens. It’s reasonable to expect that Fab has access to more advanced detection methods than the average user. When fake profiles are reported, the response from Fab seems slow and inconsistent, with some profiles remaining active long after concerns have been raised—if they are removed at all. It’s concerning how easily the verification system can be manipulated, potentially allowing verified profiles to be used for malicious or deceptive purposes. Fab has a responsibility to its users especially though if you want as necessarily tech savvy and should take stronger, more proactive steps to safeguard the community." I haven't come across one single "fake" account in my 11 years on Fab, except in the main for couples where it's just a man playing. But then maybe they just don't target me via message. There's a lot more fakes and bots on other sites of a sexual nature. Fab admin are actually very good at taking down outright fakes, however the opinion of what is a fake differs from person to person. It never ceases to amaze me that people have the time to be constantly checking other members photos to see if they are elsewhere on the internet. Maybe Fab could set up a detective department for you to head, then you can spend all day long reverse searching other members photos to your hearts content.. | |||

Yes Fab does have a responsibility but they can't constantly check every account so rely on reports from members. Having said that I have only ever found 1 true fake account with fake photos and I've been here 7 years. Yes there are some couples that have split and I suppose if one person is hanging on to the profile they could be classed as fake, however, I have been called a fake many times when I refuse to cam or call someone or even for just refusing to meet. Many people use the same photos across other sites too so finding their pics online doesn't prove they are fakes. Are you really sure all these accounts you have found are truly fake? | |||

"Fake = uploading photos you have taken from porn sites. Saying you are a couple or a woman when you are not. Maybe you just havent spotted a fake profile, but it's misleading to claim they don't exist because you haven't seen one OR maybe they aren't messaging you, I find between 5-10 a day and I don't think fab are doing a good job. I reported one this morning, had been chatting for a few hours, said something fishing and I noticed they had no photo verification, only one verification by meet, but this was a fake profile using fake images that had managed to get around the message filters and message us. It's really not difficult to do a reverse image search, I would expect a website like fab to have far more sophisticated tools and the process be automated. When meeting on fab even if meeting in public people are putting themselves in quite vulnerable positions. I take the safety of my wife seriously, these fake profiles are at best annoying and at worst could be used to lure a naive person or persons into a dangerous position." At times can be an influx even with reports and remembering each time different so some may need further investigation I've noticed from experience at times reports have been acted on quickly and at times yes can have a little delay but as mentioned can be an influx same goes for images that get uploaded given vast amount some can slip through but do eventually get caught out. Compared to many sites fab is miles better in general as it has more control of things and I speak from my experience in the years of being on this | |||

"Yes, I'm positive, there is the possibility of someone on fab steeling photos and posting them elsewhere, or just that profile wanting to post elsewhere. But take the profile this morning I reported, the images in question were uploaded to fab in early 2025, the image was uploaded on twitter multiple times between 2020 and 2024, on Reddit during the same time period and I think the source was a amateur pornstar who posted the images back in 2018. All this came came back from a 5 second reverse image search using Google lens. And that's kinda the norm. The worrying thing is that people don't seem to be aware of this." I understand your concern but as I mentioned the vast amount that get uploaded do eventually get caught out There's a saying if it looks suspicious then do what is right the site has all the tools | |||

" The last one I played along with was or said he was Ukrainian and you can tell when their about to ask for money, in his case it was to bribe an official so he didn't have to join up ... I would add admin did remove the profile promptly and it did reappear under other names etc...then they just vanish ... My concern is some people will likely part with money .... Fab is actually not bad for fake profiles,I've used other sites that were worse ... " Yes these are spammers/scammers and as soon as seen / caught up in the blocks Admin set up or reported by helpful users they are soon gone.  | |||
