Meet agreement - track timewasters

Timewasters are one of the biggest problems on here. It would be great if we could have a record of when people have:

1: Had a successful meet

2: Had to cancel a meet

3: Failed to turn up

If both/all parties sign up to a meet (can be private like DMs) they can then just report if the other party scored 1,2 or 3.

The verification system is OK but it hides alot of time wasters.

The meet agreement would of course be voluntary. It would give those of use fed up with being messed about better options for filtering out the reprobates.

Thoughts?

This is in the right place for admin to see it.

My personal opinion is that it's too open to misunderstanding and misinterpretation .

Why would you want to know if someone had to cancel a previous meet?

How could this be verified and administered?

Your definition of a time waster is obviously someone who doesn't turn up.

Someone cancelling in advance has avoided wasting your time by cancelling in advance.

Some people believe that conversations that fizzle out or don't reach a satisfactory conclusion are also a form of time wasting so how would that be policed?

You say it's one of the biggest problems on here and yet every single time someone says something similar, lots of fabbers jump on to say they've never experienced any of these issues.

I'm one of those people.

In 9 years on the site, I've never once chatted to a fake profile, been catfished or had a no show and neither have many others.

Introducing a rating system for meets would be wide open to abuse.

As someone already said it would be all too easy to make a false claim.

Even if it was mandatory it still wouldn't be trustworthy.

If you are finding that you are experiencing regular no-shows then it may be time to review your own vetting system because it's not working.

If it is as rife as you suggest the law of averages would say I should have experienced it at least once in 9 years but I haven't and I don't put that down to luck.

I've never had a no-show. But I have had to cancel, and I did that in good time with good reason.

I have had people admit that they weren't who they said they were on their profile. Predominantly single males with a couples profile.

I've also had two people admit that they were agoraphobics, and they didn't meet anybody but they like to fantasise.

Agree with what you say but seems amazing you never had a no show. There are definitely many fakes for sure and especially guys wanting wife to play. I expect wives have no idea husband discussing them being used. It’s not right unless they know and truly willing

I'd really like a meet agreement that all parties click to accept, that would include the date and time.

It could help to formalise the arrangements and present any misunderstandings, as the arrangements would be explicitly clear. It could help Fab to track and cross-reference against reports of no-shows.

Have you tried speaking to these couples before arranging to meet? I mean actually speaking - on the phone or via a quick video chat? An easy solution and one that would determine instantly if the woman didn't know or even exist.

And there's already the option to report someone who doesn't turn up to an arranged meet. Always has been.

It's not amazing at all. I had my first meet 6 weeks after joining in 2016 and I've had 4 different profiles in that time.

I've met more than 60 people across those 4 profiles and about half those have been at group socials.

Every single person I've arranged to meet one to one has turned up on time and been exactly as they proclaimed to be.

I find it amazing that there are so many people with similar experiences to mine and at the same time so many who are constantly having issues with no shows.

I'm nothing special. It really is as simple as chatting to someone, agreeing to meet socially and turning up. It never fails.

Makes it sound like a board meeting rather than fun.

Do you really think fab admin have the time to cross reference reports etc?

Don’t doubt you mate but just seems must don’t have this experience and why surprisesme. I have a lot of fun myself but have had no shows and fakes. Great you have had otherwise. I genuinely hope it continues that way for you

This is part of the reason we only meet at clubs. If the person we have made plans to meet then it’s no hardship for us. We get to enjoy our night and play together or meet someone else.

People are busy, life gets in the way, nerves take over and some people just like the chase and instant gratification from messaging people. None of it is wrong in our eyes.

You don't have to be a site supporter to use the site.

Nor is the site responsible as it's a platform for people to engage and possibly meet
