Have the option to stop newbies viewing your public pics

We should be allowed to control who sees our photos in the same way we can control who messages us.

That granular control would be a huge win in my opinion. The only options should not be public, friends, or private.

This is constructive feedback, this is what this sub-forum is for.

Hiya

But everyone does have control of who sees there photos if it's friends only only they would see them and if private it wouldn't even show on the profile that you have any

Thanks for jumping in — totally get where you’re coming from, and you’re right that we do currently have options like public, friends-only, and private. But I think the point I (and the OP) were trying to make is a bit more specific.

It’s not just about broad privacy settings — it’s about having more granular control, like being able to allow specific users (not just “friends”) to view particular photos or albums. Right now, “friends-only” is still a fairly wide net, and private means no one even knows the photos exist. Something in between — like being able to approve on a different basis — would give people way more flexibility and peace of mind.

Just wanted to clarify that, as I don’t think we’re disagreeing — more just talking about slightly different layers of control. Appreciate the conversation!

yeah stop newbies then your pictures stop them all. They just have to pitch collectors and fit profiles when they don’t have their own up. They just trolling peoples profiles going off on them private pictures put them to friends only hide it from newbies I’ve blocked all newbies now.

Sitting on the table

A better idea would be to allow users to have several customisable galleries, that we could choose the privacy settings for each one

For example, when you upload a photo or video, instead of:

◽ public

◽ friends only

◽ private

, you get :

◽ gallery 1

◽ gallery 2

◽ gallery 3

◽ gallery 4

Etc..

Then in the photo manager you could choose the different privacy settings for each gallery:

(GALLERY 1)

◽ public

◽ friends only

◽ private

(GALLERY 2)

◽ public

◽ friends only

◽ private

(GALLERY 3)

◽ public

◽ friends only

◽ private

And so on..

The current model of choosing privacy settings for each individual photo, does become quite tedious if you have lots of photos.

I follow what you're saying.

It's been mentioned before that one potential option may be that the only people that can view your photos (aside from friends of course) are those that meet your message preferences. That way you'd effectively be 'advertising' yourselves to those you want to attract and not to anyone else, which kind of makes sense to me. 🤷‍♂️

Might cut down on unwanted mail at the same time. Just something that's been suggested before, so that maybe a profile photo is visible but nothing else.
