Userplane have informed us they will be stopping their service on 1st August 2013. These are the old style chat rooms. New chat is not affected. This affects all Userplane chat over the internet, not just on Fab.

We'd welcome feedback from those folks who use the "old" chat rooms about why you prefer those rooms to see if there's anything we can do to accommodate

The userplane service has sucked for ages and our only suprise is that it hasn't closed earlier.

I preferred the old way of being able so send a private message without having to open up the boxes. One of reasons I stopped using chat was because trying to talk to others in private and getting all the boxes confused the life out of me.

What a sad day that will be, we have used the old chat rooms for years! I think the main prob we have with new chat is way the boxes keep popping up, you type in one box and if u get a new pm it automatically goes to the new box, its really really annoying! x

I to have used both new and old chat and i defo dont like new chat....annoying windows, cant see who is in room before u go in n cant find any smileys

It's not that the site is getting rid of Userplane, it's Userplane who are stopping the service. Not much can be done about that tbh

very true its not the sites doing but any chance of the site using some of the old chat systems like being able to see who is in a particular room before entering so much quicker and easier when your looking for someone in particular also the pm boxes are hopeless any chance of the old whisper back was a lot easier

but i will miss the old chat

i suppose there are about four rooms which never have more than 3 to 7 ppl in there maybe one of those could be renamed OLD NEW CHAT lol

but it wouldnt be the same because facilities are much different in new chat

awwwwww how sad...i hate new chat those pvt mgs boxes r so irritating and its such an unfriendly place....could we have a room of our own in new chat... like everyone says we just old school i guess.... thats what you could call it!! "OLD SCHOOL"

Can't agree more its so damn annoying the popup boxes ( never used the old service but if we had known we would definitely have been using it) and the problems it has using safari is a pain too ( can't open chat box fully and it keeps wandering off the page)

For anyone that doesn't know, there's a dropdown box, below where your own cam pic appears, allowing you to set PMs (+ Pokes) to Anybody, Nobody or Friends Only.

It's considered polite to ask BEFORE opening a PM to someone, but I wonder, if PM popups are the reason that people were slow to migrate from Userplane to New Chat, whether:

a) PM/Pokes should (maybe it already does?) default to Nobody, until the user explicitly changes it?

b) a "xxxxx wants to PM you (A)ccept/(R)eject" type dialogue could come up before the PM opens?

yes it is hard work the pms takes a lot of fiddling around and once you open your pms u get too many trying to chat thats part of the problem at least with whispers in old chat you never missed the convo in the room and if a whisper if you did not want to never interrupted your chat in the room

Its not just a case of turning pms off, we want them on but we dont want to be typing in one box to someone and the message going into another box that has popped up...suppose if I learn to touch type Ill be able to look at the screen while im typing and see it happening, but as I dont Ive sent the wrong message to the wrong person more then once (infact almost every time ive been in new chat lol)

I am a qualified touch typist but even when looking at the screen not the keys my words sometimes go into a box that just popped up, sometimes it causes hassle lol

a new pm system might be better or the old system was good

it would be good to have a room called some thing to do with old chat and maybe one where we can be adults and have a laugh without getting banned it dont have to be a directing room. we all know how to say no all said n done.

we have been on fab since its inception and feel extremely sad *old* chat is closing...Ive tried new chat and found its format far from user friendly and the rooms to be rude and ignorant...whatever happened to rooms you could find meets in and not be bullied into showing *bits* apprently we arent swingers if we dont masterbate!!!...brilliant cam in new chat but swinging end of day is not about cam its about meeting and shaggin..!st of Aug is goin to be a sad day when swingin becomes terminally ill...I hope it can be saved .xxxx

Why not just close down the New Chat room's its easier, a lot of us use the old chat because its simpler to use and more user friendly ! If you go in the new chat rooms the set up is ok cam wise but everything else is just " pant's " .... there seem's to be more in New Chat yeah that might be true but in reality most only chat and cam and demand you to fire ya bits out, if you do not they class you as a messer or a time waster !! surely this is not what the site is all about which is ( swinging )I have to say that if the old chat is closed down with effect from the 1st August then I will probably just refrain from using the chat rooms entirely

might u it could be good to have just a room free from camming. just a chat room. nowt against camming but we get ppl directing even if we got face on cam etc., maybe if old chat cant be saved maybe a room just for that CHATTING like the old days ban cams least that way we can still have a good old natter lol

Thanks for the fun Userplane. Loved the layout, the whispers/PMs , tho the larger Cam wasnt so large. It provided some good fun & loved the fact we could follow chat & have some individual user control over speed etc. it's a sad day to see it go.

Sadly, more people moved over to the new chat & everyone goes where the largest number of users are.

Ditto the earlier comment about 'maximising' chat windows on new Chat in the Chrome browser. When you try to do this. The box doesn't extend, and it just goes blank. Have to manually drag and resize the chat window.

I think many of the members would appreciate a room for just chatting with no cams , as the dribbling , drooling and fawning over a fem with her boobs out is very warying and off putting in the chatrooms and that may encourage the old userplane chat users to use new chat at a more comfortable and relaxed pace than some of the new chat rooms can be .

am not saying remove cams we all like cams now and then but it would be lovely to have JUST ONE ROOM no cams allowed just for ppl to CHAT hence the name Chat Rooms lol just one little room there are plenty of rooms that hardly get used we could have one of those couldnt we ???? at least that way we wont have any budding Steven Speilbergs spoiling the chat and when we want to cam we go in the rooms where cams are makes sense if only for a three month trial

no help need to move into new chat everybody can choose to still type in old chat until userplain ends it but to move to new chat even tho we all say old chat was so very much better and more community sort of but no help needed to use new chat its just not as good with the private message system and i think to be truthful the site is more geared now to cam playing than actually meeting on times lol hence the mention of a chat only room

I want to cam and chat at the same time, just because my cams on doesnt mean I should be expected to do anything on it. At the end of the day we are used to telling people in old chat that we dont play on cam so why should it be any different in new chat? Just say no and they will soon move on, and the block button is there for a reason after all! I dont want to move to new chat but I have to, or just not go in chat at all...userplane is closing, its not admins fault...so we just have to suck it up and get on with it

everyone will get used to new chat we all had to. just a shame we had to lose the whisper facility and the fact that we could see who was in the room before we entered it. that was one of the best features of the chat seeing who was in before having to go in and search for who you looking for in chat xxxx

well admin did say if we had enuff members asking for the bit to see who is in chat before entering they would see about making it possible on new chat but nothing happened shame cos that was one of the really good parts of userplane xxx

well useing chat for over 7 years im sure we are aware of the rules of chat and stick to it but some of us like a bit of banter which could look like directing and end up getting kicked out of chat. we not children and as most of use directing room we know how to say no thanks

In my opinion, one of the BEST things about new chat is that we can turn whispers off (or set to 'friends only'). There was nothing more irritating in Old Chat than having offensive/directing whispers appearing, with no way of blocking them, except after the event.

The main advantage of Old Chat over New Chat was the facility to see the gender, age and location of chatters, without opening the profile. That is something that I would like to see added to New Chat, if this is possible.
