highlighting messages from friends

Its clear some site users receive a tonne of messages daily. How does the idea of highlighting the messages in your inbox that come from people already on your friends list for easier filtering sound?

It would need to be a different colour from the new yellow highlighted messages we get already in yellow.

say sky blue or light green to make a obvious visual difference.

I was thinking green for go, as in you have already accepted them as friends

what about the little yellow smiley when we look at a profile it tells us we are friends would that be any good

I did suggest ages ago that there should be two totally different 'in boxes' for each profile.

One collects mail from people on friends list and one from everyone else.

That way you can check one and not the other quickly for mail you want rather than wade through loads you don't.

I assume it would use too much server space as no one ever said anything about it.

it wouldn't use anymore server space id say as you are still getting the same amount of messages
