Publication of edited profiles

I recently read a bit of advice on a thread which recommended regularly revisiting your profile to keep it up to date. This gives me one suggestion and one question.

The suggestion is to automatically generate an 'edited date' in the text box. That would be a good hint for readers.

The question is 'if I make a change to the text of my profile, will the profile get any prominence of any sort anywhere?

as far as im aware prominance only happens when you publish new pics and when someone does a search for profiles which is sorted according to the last time users were online
