Have a “No thanks” button when reading a message or as a link on the profile. One click then deletes any friend status and if you click the button in the message then it also deletes the message and sends an automatic “No thanks” message.

When viewing a profile if either party has said “No thanks” then a symbol is displayed and you get a prompt if you try to message, wink or friend invite.

If you have said no thanks to someone then replace the “No thanks” link on the profile with a “Remove no thanks” link.

Finally an additional search option to exclude the “no thanks” profiles, saving huge amounts of time searching through the same people over and over again.

We think this would be the huge improvement to the site, but would love to know what others think.

It would save typing it but wouldn't stop the 'why not' or occasional nasty messages which is why I tend to not reply at all to messages I'm not interested in. If I thought I could say no thanks and that would be it I would happily do it but too often it's not

good idea and it saves time when faced with 20+ messages from people you are not interested i playing with yet slip through any filters you may have on. shows politeness and would appease a lot of people who take the hump when you don't reply to them
