Rather than block them, eradicate the problem, its only the photo, its not hard to do. We know it won't stop all the bullshitters but it helps

I haven't done the photo verification thing.

Also met people at socials that haven't done the photo thing.

There real though.

Maybe ask to do a quick video call?

Blocking would eradicate "your" problem, that's why the site gives you the option, individual choice.

Some people aren't bothered by "your problem.

Your solution affects everyone.

Again, the site gives you the tools. Just use them.

We don't have a "problem" thanks for the obvious response.

My point is, being verifies isn't a major trouble if genuine, it should be mandatory. There really isn't any excuse not to be I'm just asking that admin consider making it mandatory.

If you don't have a problem, why create the thread?

Why change how the site and its members operate when the site already gives you the tools to solve your problem?

But it doesn't solve the problem does it? The problem is the growing number of fake and unverified accounts.

Holding a piece of paper with a name on it doesnt make someone genuine, they can still be bullshitters

Yeah it's not an excuse. I don't have to do it as per the site. So choose not to. What difference do you think it would make if they did make it mandatory?

Plenty genuine people at socials and clubs.

It gets easier to spot fakes.

Well I assume its a problem for many users. It certainly isn't helping.

I never said it would solve all the problems or stop bullshitters but it would reduce them.

I personally think verification would be a positive thing, can't understand why anyone genuine would oppose it??

You're assuming it's a problem and want Admin to change the way the site operates on the strength of that?

If the site owners thought PV was a positive thing they'd do it, surely.

I'm not opposing it, I'm saying being bothered by accounts that aren't PV is easily avoided. And if it's easily avoided, it's not a problem.

Add in, a PV photo is easily faked, it solves zero issues.

People who are PV are as guilty of being timewasters as anyone.

"Well it's hardly a negative approach is it? "

It's hardly positive either.

What are the positives, how does being PV benefit the site and its users?

How does being PV get rid of the timewasters and fakes?

Search forums for "Photo Verified" There's hundreds of threads, admin/moderators have contributed to many of them, explaining why its not a requirement.

How doesn't it benefit the site? Surely the more genuine and reduction of fakes/time wasters is only positive... regardless of how many.

I sense younjustvenjoybarguingbfornthe sake of it, I can't imagine the majority of genuine folk would disagree with being verified.

Not everyone using the site uses it for meeting.

There's plenty of people that just use the cam chat rooms. Or the photos/video section.

Or people that use the forums.

If it is for meeting there is a section that tells you how to meet safer.

A cam call would make sense more than photo verified accounts.

You need to look after your own safety.

But you can just use the filters the site provides then non PV wont be available to you

Im genuine and only had to photo verify myself due to having had previous profiles if i didnt have to then i wouldnt have, it serves no purpose other than saying im the sex ive chosen on my profile

I think some people don’t understand the intention behind the photo verification option.

Its designed to give a level of assurance that the person in the picture is the same gender as the person’s profile. And it's no guarantee of that.

What it’s not, is a cast iron guarantee that this process is 100% fool proof. Photo verifications can be and probably are faked.

What they are not is a nailed on guarantee that the person is genuine, the profile is genuine, that they won’t waste your time, that they will find you attractive, that they will want to meet you or that they will fuck you.

Enjoying the site is about using your common sense, regrettably a skill many seem to lack.

I think some people are in too much of a hurry to meet, too desperate, and in their haste they forget to carry out any due diligence.

After which they want the site to remedy their mistakes by introducing a whole raft of unworkable and impractical processes.

If any other form of verification system provided a 100% guarantee, don’t you think the site would have implemented it by now?

It's been requested before and the answer is always the same, the owners won't force anyone to photo verfy to use the site. Just use the filter. It doesn't make any difference, it doesn't prove anyone is genuine or that they will turn up. I've had a few different profiles and only photo verified twice to access parts of the site I wanted to use. I don't see the point in it personally.

We are not photo verified. Being photo verified adds nothing to us or the people we meet on here.

We never arrange to meet anyone based on their profile on here and are happy if others take that view about us.

We go to clubs and meet 'real' people. Once we've met them we might ask them if they are on here and get their username. So we don't need to know in advance if they are timewasters; fake or anything.

We've met them in real life and they are 'verified' as far as we are concerned.

Once you go down that route you have to keep verifying; say at least once a year. Has the person changed their look, are they still a couple? etc etc. You open up an administrative self-inflicted burden.

Admin have always said that they have no plans to make PVs compulsory.

A PV or even many veris doesn't mean a person won't cancel or just not turn up, people can change their mind.....doesn't mean they shouldn't let you know they have, but still.

If them having a PV/veris is important to you then use your filters so that only verified profiles can mail you or do the searching yourself and contact those that have what you require.

I mentioned this in the survey, loads of our friends on here did too. It's another example of a standard rule that other sites have in place and Fab doesn't. Everyone should be photo verified to help prove they're real.

Good to see others on here suggested it too. It's clearly a wanted feature that'll offer reassurance to users. That's not a bad thing.

You don't need to be photo verified to be genuine

I've been on this site nearly 11 years and have chatted with many whom weren't and we're very much genuine and gradually in their own time did everything adding photos and being photo verified and are very successful on the site

So we wouldn't have access to the site even though we aren't interest in PV; marvellous! As others have said just filter out those that aren't PV and that surely solves your problem. If you filter on PV profiles then those that aren't PV aren't an issue to you. Win-Win.

As so many people have said it's really easy to make the site work how you want it to. It's simply a case of using filters in mail and searches. Even if you look at a profile from a forum post there's a green flag that will identify those who have been photo verified.

Do a forum search for photo verification.

The overwhelming number of people who don't want PV may surprise you.

I do have several meet verifications, but they're no guarantee I'm genuine, not a timewaster or I'll turn up.

Being PV doesn't change that.
