Racial preference filter

So I've been on Fab on and off. I have sent loads of messages. None have ever replied other than to politely decline, apart from one other response from a homosexual (even though I'm straight!). I'm a reasonably good-looking guy I think, and I think my profile is Ok?

I am also British Asian. I am under no illusion that my race/colour will not be to everyone's liking. That's fine. What I don't want to be doing is wasting my time writing emails to women for whom my race is not their cup of tea.

I used to be on Match.com and actually had several sexual encounters from there with white women. Each Match profile stated the races that person would consider, and obviously I would not write to those that did not consider Asians.

I think each Fab profile also needs to state which races are acceptable. It would save a great deal of time for people like me.

Not sure we agree, Race isn’t always the issue people don’t want to meet.

Think your missing OPs point

He’s not saying it’s an issue to him as he’s aware he’s not for everyone, he’s putting forward a suggestion for filtering for those that have preferences and thus saving him time and effort

Personally it’s a great idea and as fab has had a few updates lately I’d like to see preferences added by way of filtering, just don’t forget to add curvy redheads

Honestly I think it’s stupid having a race preference in general but I’d support a filter that would out those that have one like OP suggests. It would save so much time and embarrassment as well tbh

What you're saying is to only hear from people you're interested in meeting and I agree. It's a simple fix and one that can be switched on and off like all other filters.

I assume the issue would arise when the yellow banner appears stating that this person has blocked you based on their racial preferences isn't a good look for the site.

Sigh.

Yes I agree, more filters would save a lot of time.

One of the filters I like is, those who've not blocked single men. However, there could be lots more such as height.

Bodyshape is subjective but height and race are not.

The problem is that people like myself who state what their preferences are often get abusive messages from said race and called alot of nasty things, which is probably why we don't do it.

All these people saying having a race filter is wrong are ridiculous. It's no different to saying you only want 7+ inches or you only want gym fit, or you want want non smokers or you only want bbw or all these women who only want bbc.

It's not racist to have a preference and this OP is fully embracing that and is actively encouraging freedom of choice.

Anyone who thinks op is wrong or that it's wrong in general to have a preference needs to research what consent means.

I’d like to be able to block people who are outside my geographic area! So many time wasters when I put a “meet now” up and they are 2 hours drive away or more.

Then they're obviously insecure dickheads who should be banned from the site. For me, I just appreciate the honesty and save me 5-10 mins of my life messaging someone who won't be interested in me.

It doesn't even have to state that you have been blocked for racial preferences. It could just say you are denied from responding as you don't meet one of more of the person's preferences. That would be fine with me, and save me asted time.

I've asked for such a filter and many who are saying race isnt an issue as those who have no idea.

Every message I've received from fab about not being interested has always been on race. Such as I'm not into black men, I'm only into Caucasian, damn right I'm not into n word which was reported, not my preference, don't like bbc, natural stereotype and the list goes on.

Even where I've come across a profile which says not into blacks or Asian but they picture or video takes my eye and send a polite message to say pleasantries about it and nothing more and the reply can and have been, can you people not read.

So this is why I've ask before for such a filter but admin has ignored. Nice to see someone else think it would be useful.

I'd suggest that having a preference based on someone's race (instead of their personality or sexual orientation, for example) is the very definition of racism.

I used to be on Match.com and they had a filter like this. I used it as a red flag, and chose never to date anyone who revealed themselves to be racist.

Agreed. Stops us from wasting time.

I prefer when women and couples, make it clear that they don't want to meet black men.

Then why not have search filters for everything?

I’ll tell you why… “no results found.”

The majority of us middle aged pervs would be filtered out of town.

It's sad that society has become a tick box generation, rather than being able to be sensible and civil in their choices ...must has to do with technology leading the way people interact ...

It was far easier meeting people years and years ago ....where from personal experience...sexuallity,race etc played less of a part ... people just got on better ...and choices were yours to make without insulting anyone ...

I do believe there would be a legal reason or two, as to why such a filter could not be rolled out.

As others have said, just be sensible and move on.

I don't think there's any legal implications. The way for getting round any controversy is that in a Race filter, you select the races you want to see, rather than ones you don't want to see.

For your own profile, you just select those races you want to meet. I then don't need to write to anyone not showing Asian as one of their selections.

Anybody who says what OP is suggesting is ‘racist’ is just jumping on the gravy train of the perpetually offended, or has a lifetime subscription to the virtue signalling association.

Opting to block correspondence from any group of people via a third-party service that I pay for, is neither a) prejudiced against, or b) antagonistic towards them… which is the actual definition of racism (not the shite I’ve read in this thread).

I’m open to guys of all ethnicities depending on mutual attraction and chemistry. I don’t however allow women, trans people, or guys over 45 to privately message me in the context of a site that I use to meet for sex, because I’m not attracted to them and don’t want to waste their/my time. The dumb-witted binary logic I see in here (all too often), would therefore have me pegged as ageist, sexist, and transphobic, despite me having great relationships with all of those groups in vanilla life.

And those who think there are legal barriers… have obviously never set foot near any kind of data collection in public services before, where Ethnicity, Religion, Home Language, National Identity (among other things) are all used to classify people… so there would be no issues with a privately owned website doing it.

Personally I’d welcome as many filters as physically possible. Fab is a tool to help me find what I’m looking for and the better I can calibrate it, the more efficient it would be. I’d rather have 1 message every 4 weeks from a good match, than 40 per day from people I’m never going to be interested in.

I’d love a race filter

I’ve had so much abuse when I was meeting for saying I’m only attracted to white cock

Some women like women

Some women like only black cock it’s ok to say that apparently but not ok to as you don’t fancy it

I find it strange there isn’t

There's already an Ethincity filter when looking for playmates and you can filter out smokers. So doing the same based on race shouldn't be difficult.
