What counts as a 'cam' verification?

So I was speaking to someone on Snapchat and they suggested I veri them via cam.

Although she posted live snaps of herself to me - we didn't video call.

This person has 3 veris on their profile and all cam and they were quite guarded about their face but I don't want to sound suspicious!

I'm not sure how legit live pics on snap are - a video call I feel like it's okay to possibly verify like Skype etc but a snap?

What's the ruling on this? Lol

Not sure the rules but I would say actual cam on here would count, other places not so much, just in case it isn't genuine.

I've had people ask for the same on snapchat and I don't comply.

The site FAQ's state this.

"We can only now accept verifications by cam (after you have checked it's not a recording e.g. by asking them to hold their hand up) or after a meet. We believe that this change will mean that verified accounts continue to be trusted by the community."

When you go to leave a verification you're met with this message.

"Please only verify profiles as genuine when you have met in person or seen on cam. You also need to provide a comment giving more information on your verification.

If you leave a fake verification you will be banned.

Method:

Meeting in person

Webcam (seen on cam, checked not a video)"

It doesn't specify camming on here but personally I'd be wary about someone who wants a verification for an offsite chat. Especially if no faces were seen, you can't be 100% sure it was live and they're just sending photos rather than clearly interacting in person.

Whilst someone gets a tick for a cam veri, many won't consider it the same way as a 'meet in person' one. People who want to meet usually want to see evidence of a face to face, in person encounter.

I've cammed on Skype and WhatsApp and seen what the person looks like. If they ask to be verified I'm happy 2 do that.

I think concept of cam verifications does nothing to indicate what the person is like.

Therefore I totally ignore cam veris as feel should be scrapped

Guess the whole point is whether it's a man or a woman!

Yeah I've verified on video call on apps. Never from a picture, only from conversation where I can see face and/or body and I'm sure they're responding to me in particular

Thanks for clearing that up, makes sense to me. Appreciate it.

So now I've said if you want a veri we can do it on chat rooms on here but she's saying she's a newbie and her new profile won't let her join the chat because her profile is new?

Just wanted to check this was true...?

I don't know if cam is restricted for new profiles.

But in your specific case - everything about "her" behaviour seems dodgy as fuck and I'd avoid in your shoes.
