Is there a way of increasing number of filters?

Like:

Only profiles within 10 miles can message you.

Only profiles with face pics

Turn off winks option

Helping friend with her profile but the filters we can find are fairly limited so still getting inundated by those that wouldn't be of interest as too far etc

I suggest that your friend sets her filters so she receives no messages. That gives her a chance to search profiles that fit her requirements and contact them herself.

Wherever

People will still cheat to get through the filters, like they do, eg. setting their location to within 10 miles for example, or putting face pics public just to get through the filters, and then swiftly changing it back.

Best advice is set up filters as Nicecouple said above.
