Auto-refresh 'My Account' page

Sometimes if i'm expecting a message in the few minutes etc, I'll sit at the laptop refreshing the page repeatedly waiting for it to appear.

Could a real time auto-refresh feature be added (similar to Facebook)?

For the benefit of server bandwidth, I'd suggest limiting this feature to the 'My Account' page as this is the hub of updates.

Never expect a reply, then there would be no need for such a thing

Couldn't you just press f5 if on a laptop/pc?

Or the home button if on mobile?

That's what I have been doing. The point of autorefresh is not having to stay on the page pressing refresh. You can either do other stuff around the room and keep an eye on it or be in another window doing something else.

Right now I run Ghost Mouse to do it for me as I usually have my eye on lots of diff things at once. It's just more efficient to have it inbuilt to the site.

I have no idea what that is sorry. If Im nosing in forums and flicking inbetween sections it seems to auto refresh itself.

Actually all it needs is an ajax call (which is javascript and can be used on all pages) it just asks the server 'any mail?' and gets the reply 'x' where x is the unread count, easy... (said the web guy )
