I think but am not 100% sure that when a profile is hidden people who have hotlisted that profile can see when they're online. My profile is currently hidden and I just happen to receive messages whenever I'm online.

Can this be disabled as it rather defeats the object of hiding your profile.

yes even if a profile is hidden , if on a hotlist , by looking in the hotlist it shows if online or when last online , same applies to blocklist

Yes I know I'm not hidden at the moment. My question was around what happens when a profile is hidden and whether others can see when they're online.

Unfortunately it only filters profiles you've had no interaction with. Which is a start I guess but doesn't solve the whole problem.
