Verification photo - why naked?

Hi. Can any mod tell me why we are required to be naked in verification photos? What’s this based on?

I want to photo verify but I’m not comfortable sharing my face due to privacy reasons - and I’m definitely not taking a whole body naked shot - it seems somewhat unsecure and at huge risk of privacy/security breach.

But the real question is - why does the body shot have to be fully naked?

Presumably so they know you're not a man trying to run a woman's profile

Fairly sure it doesn't have to be a full nude and you don't need to show your face.

It just needs to be very clear that you are the gender you claim to be (hence hard to do if fully clothed) and both of you need to be in the pic if you are claiming to be a couple), and so long as you holding the paper with your name and fabswingers on it, it should be verified ok.

Hope that helps

The rules of photo verification are here. It states it must be a face picture or full length nude

"Presumably so they know you're not a man trying to run a woman's profile"

Interesting… but then if it’s about gender wouldn’t it just be necessary to have a photo of someone’s chest and the piece of paper with the name? Or even their genitals?

There seems a huge potential for a data breach or privacy breach with the full lengths, as they’re quite easily identifiable if they were to ever get out there. (Via body markings, decor in the house etc). And once uploaded they can’t be deleted

You have choices, as Nicecouple state above

'The rules of photo verification are here. It states it must be a face picture or full length nude'

You could always submit a site improvement idea, with your justification and other users will comment on the idea.

Obviously the site is governed by GDPR law and thousands of us have trusted them getting on for 20 years. I think most of us choose verification via face pic, so there's no need for full nudity. I assume too that identifying marks, such as tattoos, could be obscured in veri pics, as they can be in general pics.

You are verified already, why do you want to photo verify?

O o O oo

It isn't compulsory for all. If you are not comfortable doing it, you don't have to

The full-length nude does not require you to have your face in it.
