Disagree. Ive had a few winks from interested parties and its led to some good times.

No doubt as a woman you get overwhelmed and just ignore but for us guys its welcome to receive.

Yep, agree with this - also sometimes send winks to friends to say hi in passing, just to let them know I haven't forgotten they exist!

Have had some good meets after winks too....

A wink shows you are interested and for them to look at your profile and they can wink back if they like then you send a message.

I've wrote plenty of longish messages telling people what we like only to not have a reply so a wink is sometimes just as effective.

to many i suppose we're a limited taste..we feel that winks are justified...we mail a good few people with so few replies...by just initially winking that tells us that they could be interested..so then we'll message if they wink back...so much more productive

we apply same logic if anyone winks us..do i really have to spell it out?

I agree. A wink is a quick action that says " I'm interested". Sometimes I wink before sending a message just to see if they are interested in hearing from us. If they wink back, then I craft a message to get the conversation going.

I always read the profile before winking and don't bother if it is clear from the profile that they wouldn't like us.

As for it being lazy... If someone has a well written profile I generally slip the wink and go straight to the message cause the profile gives a talking point to start the conversation, bit if the profile doesn't give much to go on, a simple wink is much better than something lame like "hey sexy, love the pics" which is likely to get ignored anyway.

I think its fair enough not liking winks when there is nothing to essentially wink back at thats on the profile.. some simple text and no pics wouldnt really warrant a wink back

as some and myself have said, Ive done ok for meets from initial winks etc..so they have their purpose..but to assume its laziness and that the person will be a shite meet?-getta fuckin grip

I disagree! Winks are great- as a single bloke its great to get a wink and it shows someone likes your profile. Many of my meets have developed from initial winks and its a quick way of showing you like a profile.

I like to wink at girls/couples as I'm not a copy and paste guy I spend time sending a personalised message which I hope gives the receiver the knowledge that I've read there profile and feel I may fit the bill then get nothing back and it's deleted with no reply so it's a way of seeing if there is any interest first

They do seem kind of pointless. We've had a few winks recently and anytime we reply to them we get no response. So not sure what the point of winking us was.
