Great idea. Why not do away with the Post Code and we could all put our full addresses in?

Just a thought.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Have to agree with the Sarcastic Scouse Siren - I wouldn't enter that much detail.

You'd also get too few results, IMO.

I was being serious ! In fact, when I log on .... i'd like lights to flash on my roof and klaxons to sound up and down the streets of Liverpool with a recording of a loud hailer. "Granny has the horn ...... all offers considered!" Come to think of it .... suveillance of site members 24/7 would be a boon for searchers! Once glance of me eating Beans on Toast and sitting in a string vest will get my in box stuffed to capacity.

What about lighthouse keepers who would be the sole show for their Post Code At least he could reply to his own mail .. or cuss his own bad manners if he doesn't reply.

There are various other swinging site where you can search by letter and 1 number only. Do peeps realise the area that it represents?? And regarding the fact that there may be too few results them search for "cv" instead of "cv1" Btw thanks for all the sensible comments compared to all the sarcastic ones !!

Within the area I live, I'd happily meet people in xx1-6, 15, & 24 (I think it's 24, anyway).

Within the area I work I'd meet people in yy1-48, and there's a third postcode type that's within relatively easy reach too.

I'd be re-searching for hours! And I'm sure most areas would work in the same way. You could get a bus ride to the next postcode area!

swindon

I like the current system, so don't see any need to change it.

I think it would be a nice addition if you could put your post code - but others were unable to see it - to allow you to search by distance from your address.

There are several post codes I'm interested in searching... SN, BS, GL, RG, etc... Currently I have to do 4 searches to get that, and some of the results are too far away - Swindon is in North Wiltshire but it's quite a large county, geographically speaking, so someone in South Wiltshire is a potentially a good couple of hours drive away.

I'd like to be able to specify only people who are 10, 20 or 50 miles from my post code. I don't want to know the post codes of the people returned in my results, just that they're within the radius I've specified.

Does this make sense?

Woah, easy tiger. I appreciate your point of view... it's just that I disagree with it

I actually agree with what your saying to do as an option and to be able to search by distance from us. Thanks for your thoughts x

Newcastle and Gateshead

some people are already just a weary about how close the postcode search is.. so I think the balance at the moment is right.....all the postcode thing as to do is give you a general idea

If you want to make it more specific you actually can already do that by going into personal details and putting it in the "town" box so I hope to see you change yours... practice what you preach and all that..

I think the more you "make" people do it... the more people will reject it, and temptation would be to put in false details.... and it would defeat the object
