I hate that you can see new members have joined on my updates also should be able to hide updates that not interested in this site is so old fashioned

How would you know you're not interested in an update before you see it?

Our solution to not seeing profile updates from certain users whose updates are often unsavoury/tedious/abusive/nasty etc is to block the profile. Job done

Don't allow them to negatively impact your life on site.
