Increase Mailbox capacity

A lot of my messages have disappeared from last week? I am a silver site supporter and got so many messages recently it's got rid of all my other ones - so guessing mailbox is limited to a few hundred? Admins, can this be increased?

I've found that messages over a certain age tend to dissappear anyway

Isn't it often quoted that single women get thousands of messages so they can't cope with replying and mens messages get lost in the masses?

How can that possibly be true if messages are limited to a few hundred?
