Location selection option changes?

It's a while since I've been to Europe and Spain in particular but I'm sure I used to change my location to Spain on my account to help generate a more accurate "who's near by" result. With my visiting the Spanish mainland I was surprised to see that there are no european countries as an option to select other than Ireland which as hardly the Spanish mainland or continental Europe either. Will who's near by work still?
