Restoring messages once deleted?

Is there any way of restoring messages once deleted? ....if not, could this be a new feature please? Like a 'recently deleted' Also is there a way to only deleted some messages within a message feed to the same profile?

Why would there be any benefit in being able to delete only some messages from a trail?

Unless there was content that needed hiding from someone.......
