Changes to News Feed II

We've made some further improvements to the news feed today 11 Dec 2012:

1. Shows user's sex on more places e.g. photo-verified tells you what the user photo-verified as (e.g. _j_mark photo-verified as a Couple), meet today shows sex, etc.

2. For the first time we're now showing matching future meets/events on the news feed. A matching meet is one where you match the preferences of the user posting the meet, they match your preferences and the meet they have posted is applicable to you (so if they want to meet Females and you're a Female, it'll show). Meets show when they are posted by the user and on the day of the meet.

Feedback welcome .

3. At the top of the news feed we show a summary on the desktop www version of Fab which tells you how many news feed items are waiting and when the last update was (on the homepage). Makes it easier to keep on top of if it's worth checking than endless scrolling. The mobile version has always had a summary; but that now also shows the latest update times.

Looking at these new changes. Then I can only say this cements what I am saying long may this site be the best.

not sure if its just my browser (probably is as my comp is older than time!!) but the longer updates are going outside of the page marins....no big issue as i can still read them but thought you like the feedback

i do like that peoples avatars are shown against the updates

Some good changes, but also think it would be a great idea if you could either choose what updates you actually want to see or if the updates page at least took filters into account.

I filter newbies, non verified and no public photos, so would rather not see the "xxx joined fab swingers" posts, or the meet posts of people who I have filtered, or photos from non verified / newbies.....and so on

Hi, I like the updates but unfortunately it appears this has made the width of the site smaller which means something takes up two lines that only used to take one? Perhaps I am using too high a resolution but I havnt had any problems before.

I'd like to see the updates from people outside of my particular postcode region. I live on the boarder between to regions and miss out on the updates from one are which is actually closer than the one that I go get updates.

This is coming shortly, we're just testing it - it'll do a radius search around your postcode rather than just the first letter of it

Hi, we'd love to have a proximity search for meets, (we're in-between the south west and south east and have to trawl through loads of meets and events to find what's near us).

You appear to have other parts of the UK in meeting lists apart from Northern Ireland.

Can we have a section for that area please? Or am I missing the link?
