People who change their age

I have noticed lately that there are a lot of members that keep changing their age on their profile, this is presumably to overcome the age filters that other members have set, do you think that this should be stopped by admin by removing the ability to change it once a D.O.B has been regestered upon joining?

I understand why people do it, but dont see the need for people to do it. If people like you for the person they have been chatting to for instance, and the pics they have seen, then the age shouldnt be important.

no because if you accidentally register with the wrong date of birth you'd never be able to change it.

"no because if you accidentally register with the wrong date of birth you'd never be able to change it.

I'm not sure that happens that often as everyone knows their date of birth, but maybe the answer is that people would have to contact Admin to do it, or they could only change it once and only within a couple of days of registering.

I don't think there should be age on profiles. We have pics so we can decide if the person looks good and profile info to see if they fit the bill so why does chronological age matter?

He is referring to the suggestion that when you register, what you put as your date of birth cannot be changed

People do do it and I have had someone contact me that I know was younger than they really were, reported them too.

The need is because of the message filters; if the person is outside someone's age range, the only way round it is to change their year of birth.

Because people have a preference, and a choice on what age group they want to meet

Difficult but face pictures/meet will prove within reason how old someone is

Your perception of a given age is not definitive or qualified so not a preference, its predjudice.

Its broad discrimination against people you haven't even taken the time to look at or listen to so its not a choice either. If you had, and decided you didn't like them, its a preference and a choice.

I would say i prefer younger peole but Ive seen females in their 50s who look much better than most in their 20s.

Setting an upper limit of say 40, is just silly because someone whos 41 isn't going to be any different to how they were last year but they get rejected before they even have a chance to say hello. I'd never really thoughtit through so I'm gonna lift all age limits on my profile. not cos I'm into old ladies in general, because their might be someone just over my limit whos really desireable

Its not discriminate its called a choice.

I see what your saying about a man or woman being 41 if your filters are set to 40 but where does it stop??

If people have filters set its because they want them to be set not to say "fook it I feel discriminately today I am going to block every one over this age blah blah blah"

I like older women always have always will but my wife has a rule of no one 10 years or so older than her, thats her choice and her choice alone, she has reasons and I respect them the same as every one else should. She does not discriminate she just made a choice

What rubbish, it has absolutely nothing to do with prejudice at all, I prefer to meet and play with people my own age, why should I allow anyone to send me messages when I would not consider them, wastes their time and mine However in a club environment, I wouldn't ask someone's age but I wouldn't play with anyone that looked young, to me, the minimum of 40 on my profile is perfectly acceptable

Why is it discrimination...I don't block anyone out of my preferred ages from messaging me, but I have rarely had an attraction to anyone out of that age range, and the only one I did had lied about his age! I'm too old headed for someone in their late teens (plus there is a worry that they aren't telling the truth about their age), but not really mature enough for most guys in their 40's so why waste their time as well as mine? I'm comfortable with men around my own age so that's who I choose to meet

ok, I think the point you and others are missing is that age is not a good indicator of either physical or mental maturity - these are things you have preferences in and are entitled to choose.

Can you honestly say all people of a given age have reached the same level of maturity, mentaly or phsicaly? ofcourse not! some people are incredibly immature all their lives and others age really badly so choosing by number is likely to mean you miss out on guys you would love to meet and vice versa!

And so are you missing the point as maturity has nothing to do with it, its about attraction and what you are attracted to, I am not attracted to people a lot younger than me, not counting the fact that I find the idea of shagging someone I am old enough to be the parent or grandparent of revolting
