Would it be possible to have an option to be notified when some directly replies to you in the forums?

A small counter, tbh I've no idea how these things work, would be great if it was just a small program

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I'm not convinced the forum software logs who is being quoted, just the content.

What you're asking may not be possible without a forum upgrade.

It MIGHT be possible to send you a notification for every response on a thread you posted on, but that could lead to 175 emails for every thread you ever post to, which is a lot of emails - single men will be - most of which you'd then delete.

If you wanted to subscribe to a particular thread, that would then need to maintained as extra fields on the user database, assuming again that the software can cope.

Or... you can use the "recent threads you posted to" and accept that there are only 35 of them (petitioning for an increase in that number might be your best hope of success, as that's surely just a setting somewhere).

I had an inclination that the forum might not be able to do it but thought there’s no harm in asking.

We use the recent threads tool but you can be going in and out while no one has directly spoken to you. Which is a pain when they get so long.

Do 'Find in page' on your browser and search for an odd word in your post. Not "the" as it would turn up loads of results...

Something like "inclination".
