"Having an inactivity feature can also be a problem because people do have a life beyond and not glued to sites or apps which a user loses any features they have paid for Depends on the time frame used. If someone hasn't logged on for over a year then it would be fair game for deletion to clean up server space" But if a user no longer wanted to use would delete regardless of them not using for any length of time as some people come back

"It would certainly de-clutter alot of the search results " Not true. If you search a specific profile that hasn't been on line for several months (I THINK it's 3 but I maybe wrong) it won't come up. When doing a broader search they usually come up as to who has most recently been online so you'd surely just stop searching after a certain time frame?

If it is clearly visible in the T's & C's that inactive accounts are deleted after 12 months then there can't be any complaints

"Having an inactivity feature can also be a problem because people do have a life beyond and not glued to sites or apps which a user loses any features they have paid for " The site could send out a warning email 1 to 3 months before the inactivity period is up so they could login to their account and keep it active thus stopping the auto deletion of their account.

"On a similar note; Is there a way to delete a thread by the OP let's say after 2 or 3 days? E.g. If I wanted to remove the whole thread... I know individual comments by a member can be removed ( think it's 5 minutes before said comments stay in the thread) Grateful for any help on this? " Only way to do that is to ask admin to remove it
