So I find someone asking for a meet and I go yum and I think I match what they are looking for and try to message them. the screen bounces back with this user has blocked people of your age. Now fair enough I can understand a 20 something not wanting to meet a 50 year old ( and conversely I wouldn't want to meet a 20 year old so wouldn't be messaging) but when you are just over the maximum age its a tad annoying. Are you sure I look 55 and not 54? If I could message you and you saw my pics would you bend your rules? Perhaps messages could be blocked but winks should not be giving the recipient the chance to make a decision on messaging back?

perhaps their mav is actually 45 but have let slip with 5 yrs for just this reason

Or conversely you get people messaging you to basically tell you that they are way under/over your age limits and you really should give them a go anyway despite the fact they don't meet any of your other criteria.

It may be unfair at times, but I prefer the current set up.
