EAST ANGLIA REGION - ACROSS SITE

Many many threads on this, mostly not respnded to by Admins or trolled by people who are not in the region.

Can I request that East Anglia is recognised as a region across FAB, that's in searches, rooms etc (The whole shebang)

I am NOT interested in trolls posting, this is a member of fab asking if others in East Anglia feel the same and hoping that an ADMIN reads this and actually does something about it.

To be clear to keep this on track:

Please only post if your in East Anglia and would be affected by the changes (Good or Bad)

or your an ADMIN

Totaly agree we are big enough to have our own region. East midlands is way to big on its own.

All regions will be removed from the site at some point, so probably this has been surpassed at the moment

Thanks for the reply...so how are searches going to work without regions, for example meets and events? how will you be able to filter to ones near you? and on people s profile too where it says which area people are from?

it does become confusing doesn't it, do you search east mids, greater London, or south west it seems all 3 regions contain east anglians in them!!

East Anglia has its own chat room, which is great and long over due. Thanks for sorting that but we so need to have East Anglia as an area code.

You will probably get better results using the Advanced Search and entering postcode for proximity search? Does that work for you?

Where it falls down badly is the meets posts, you can only choose east midlands and get many returns with a lot up to 3 hours away, doesnt make sense, london-south east is closer than many of the meets returned

For example looking under meets, east midlands throws up 22, however only 2 are within hour of my location, most 2 hours, some 3 hours away

We got confused being in Hertfordshire are we really in the South East?, some would say Greater London, We say East Anglia

We are happy to be bunched in with our six fingered friends...lol.(no offence)

How are you doing a meet now search?

Just use this, enter postcode, tick "meet today"

It doesn't use region. We'll be removing regions across the site.

We don't use meet now, we do the meet search, sue like many others we like to see ehats coming up over a period of time, it will always bring up everything by region, we get stuff showings 3 hours away and not stuff 90 minutes for example (london is closer than leicester).

Having a distance on that search page would also solve it.

Admin have been saying for quite a while that they intend to sort out the regions - if I idly check the meet today I get suggestions from Ipswich but none from Leeds, Wakefield, York or Huddersfield

So when posting 'meets, events' these will not be regionalised but work on proximity to postcode location of 'meet, event' then? We use the postcode for 'browse' but other parts of site still work on regions.

At last! Meet searching is a pain. Would like that one to be the first one to be address. searching for meets if you fancy some fun is a pain

Great response from admin. Was getting worried the site had stagnated over the last couple of years.
