saved messages

Hi - we've just 'saved' a message from 44 weeks ago. We then deleted it from 'inbox' to make more room, to see older messages pop up the running order - now it's gone from the 'saved' folder... so do we take it that, even though you 'save' a message, you still need to leave the original in the inbox, to keep it in the system?
