Currently you updated your site to display 'you've already contacted this user...."

so your database registers who has contacted who and when, and can display a message to the user to point this out.

why not add a new option into search

hide profiles i've contacted or have contacted me within the past x amount of days

Good idea. We're now having to BLOCK users who keep contacting us, when we've said 'no thanks' a couple of months before. Our BLOCK list is growing and it's not the action we like to take.

On the other hand, you could use the note option to state what date you chatted and that you didn't want to meet them, once you have done that, it displays a little blue note icon next to their profile name. Whilst you have to click on it to see what it says, at least you don't necessarily have to block people all the time
