Fakes and liars

I have a suggestion.

It seems you can be a site supporter gaming access to profile pictures and not be picture verified yourself.

Surely a simple way of stopping this and all the fake profiles (guys as women / couples etc) would be a profile must be picture verified before it can be a site supporter.

Just my thoughts

Not if it's not them in the pics the rest of us see, or not them in the verification one... I was verified by a few people, almost as soon as I returned to site, after deleting my last profile... I wouldn't have stayed if a picture verification was needed aswell

Well obviously it will be them as they have to write their username and fabswingers.com on a piece of paper and hold it in front of them.

No - it just proves they are a person holding a user name.

We think everyone should have a verification photo before you can access the site. We came across a fake the other week who we were chatting to and she said she would send photos on kik. Since then both our kik's have been inundated are with spambots.

I’ve said this numerous times before! I personally don’t think you should be allowed to join without picture verification! No one sees it as it’s private, so whether you like having a pic taken or not, it really shouldn’t matter! Of course the fakes will always get around this too, but at least make them have to work harder for it! Miss pc

OP, take a look again at the benefits of site supporters, as I think you have misunderstood them. You can upload more pics but your own veracity and ability to view others is about the same.

We are each responsible for the trust that we put in to others and how we evaluate them for suitability. Develop your skills in this, as you will still need it, whatever magical protections we may think a site could have.

Buyer beware.

Actually being photo veried is not a guarantee at all that the account is real. I've seen quite a few that aren't in my time on here so I take a photo Veri with a pinch of salt. There are always ways around it that people find.

You don't even have to show your face in photo to be photo verified

It purely to prove u are the gender that it says on the profile a lot of people who have been on here years will use their meet verifications to prove they are real

Picture verification only suggests the profile is indeed linked to the gender/genders it claims.

It's still easy to upload a picture of oneself/one another holding the paper with username, then upload pics others to the profile, claiming they're you.

Nothing will ever stop the fakes. Sadly the Internet world is full of them, along with keyboard warriors and cyber bullies. Yes even fab have their fair share of these too, bit sad really considering it was originally a site started by swingers for swingers.

We have never bothered with photo verification, we have enough veris by meets and webcam, along with pics for people to see we are completely genuine, and if peeps still think we are fakes, well we suggest get yourselves to the club and see us for yourselves xxxx

Being picture verified should be mandatory when you sign up. I know it won't completely cut out all of the fake crap, but it will definitely reduce it.

Though we all know why fab won't do it.

I think a lot of the problem is people's interpretation of the word 'fake'. I am often branded a fake and people call tell me I'm actually a man, a cock tease etc etc. It's almost like it's their defence mechanism for rejection! I am sure there are some fake people about, but not as many as people's status updates would suggest I an quite sure.

I wouldn't be against a monthly fee for using fab. This would soon out the people who are genuinely fake.
