as a blind person, I find it easier to decide who to meet once I've heard their voice. In order to avoid having to give my number out to random people I might not like I for one would like there to be private voice chat messages so that I could listen to somebody's voice without having to compromise any private information.

You could pick up a pay as you go Sim card if you have an old phone laying about and use it as your Fab phone. That way you won't have to give out your personal number.
