Now we have an Icon for when the site photo verifies people to let others know they are genuine. ?

So what does the Community think about placing a icon next to people who are cigarette smokers. Would this not help the people who don't want to meet smokers and this prevent them from looking at profiles.

You can't stop anyone looking at your profile unless you block them and actually we already have an option to say whether we would meet smokers so I really dont see this as an issue.

I don't believe that we need another icon forsmokers, next you will want one for age range and then for can,cannot accommodate. The point of a profile is to read the publishers bio and if you don't fit their criteria you don't message them.

I’m lost trying to workout all the current icons (and can’t find a key)

As everyone has their personal preference, not just on the issue of smoking but gender, sexuality and sexual preferences, there could be dozens of icons to make bypassing people quicker but this would be absurdly unwieldy on mobiles etc.

I don’t think that it might be cool to have something similar to saved searches, where a single “Indicator” (red dot/greyed out avatar etc) for users with threads that don’t match your predetermined preferences (or you, theirs ) would be pretty awesome.

1) The photo verification doesn't mean that the member is genuine , it just means they have held up a bit of paper and are the sex they claim to be.

2) No we don't need an icon for smokers, it is stated on a profile if a member is a smoker or not. We must do some of the work ourselves and look at these things

3) Why cigarette smokers? Vaping is just as bad, if not worse.

It's not awkward. Just say "sorry, not for us" or ignore their approach if you prefer. Just as you would with any other person who doesn't fit with what you're looking for. No reason is required. Then again, that would negate the need to post what you did complete with sly dig

As a smoker I make sure I always chew gum, have a nice smelling lipgloss to go on after, and a good spray of perfume, can't help feeling sometimes I'm not given the opportunity to portray this, not all smokers are inconsiderate and yukky.

I agree with you ??%. Not all smokers small like an ashtray or have stained teeth or fingers. I am a clean smoker and I make every effort to not smell or taste like I've just smoked a cigarette.

If someone doesnt want to meet us, that's up to them but my goodness do.some people on fab get bent out of shape over it.

Iv also had it and its mainly couples who have very Clearly stated they wont meet smokers but then messaged me and when iv pointed out I'm a smoker the reply more often than not is "we will make an exemption for you"

We've had that and similar loads of times.

When someone messages us it is the first thing we look or on their profile.

That is our problem we clearly state we are smokers and are respectful with it but the amount off times we have had to state we are smokers again to people who say they wont meet smokers is so annoying as u can clearly see they havent read ur profile , that is why we asked for icon to save them even looking a smokers profiles

I won’t meet smokers because I find it really awful. There’s nothing you can do to disguise the smell, no matter how careful you are, a smoker will always smell like a smoker, to me.

It’s easy to filter smokers out though, no need for any extra measures.

You may not expect this but I kind of agree, although I certainly would have been kinder in my use of language and wouldn't body shame. It would be good to be able to filter those who are into us fatties, as it saves a lot of time for everyone.

Just a shame there isn't a filter for nastiness though eh!
