How about this as a suggestion (no doubt it’ll have been said before). Why not trial verified women/TV/CD and couples being the only members who can initiate contact here on Fab?

Every woman and couple I’ve interacted with on here complains that their inbox is constantly flooded with messages from men. This is how Bumble works and they seem pretty successful; it wouldn’t even be that hard to implement as a feature. I believe it would hugely change the dynamic of the site for the better!

Perhaps the defaults might be changed in that case? It doesn’t seem to be working well, from anecdotal evidence at least.

If it’s not broke don’t fix it. The site has all the tools people need to control who messages them. Anyone complains has the power to do something about it, without trying to dictate to others what they should be doing.

Pay a membership fee then men have to sit back and wait lol. Not sure that would work. It works fine, I'm sure us couples and females can press delete if necessary.

I very rarely initiate first contact, so that wouldn't work for me

I think the default is all filters on when joining and they have to remove them ( but not 100 % sure so will find out )
