Android Chrome notifications.

Posted this in the mobile site forum a few days ago with no response so I thought I'd try here!

The alerts for new messages on Chrome went off in June 2019, with a note that they would hopefully be back up very soon. Since then there has been no update. Is this something which is still being worked on, or has it been abandoned? I found them very useful and would love to have them back.
