Punctuation seems to work just fine on my status's and all the ones that I've just read for that matter. You must be doing something wrong.

I don't think it has anything to do with OCD as I much prefer to use correct grammar and spelling, reads like the dreadful Sun rag otherwise

Hmmm, I've just had a little check. Commas and full stops work ok, however apostrophes don't.....

We'll fix this. At one point there was a good reason we stripped them (and partly laziness) but don't think it's relevant anymore

Hmmm, I've just had a little check. Commas and full stops work ok, however apostrophes don't....."

Ah! I just looked at the updates page and saw question marks, exclamation marks and various smiley faces on people's status's and assumed that all punctuation would work.
